GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Sr. Nuclear Safety Analyst to join our team at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX, which supports integral mission support to the NNSA. Key skills for this role will include expertise in nuclear safety technical support services, risk and hazard analyses, and background in creative solutions is a plus.

This position will serve the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX.

Position Overview:

  • Provide nuclear facility safety technical support services in accordance with 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and applicable standards such as DOE-STD-3009-94 and DOE-STD-1189-2008.
  • Shall have demonstrated experience in hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation process; the accident and consequence analysis process; the selection of engineered and/or administrative controls credited for the prevention or mitigation of postulated accidents; and the documentation of the results of these processes in safety analysis reports, documented safety analyses, and technical safety requirements.
  • Provides quality assurance, regulatory compliance and requirements implementation support for Safety Basis Division.
  • Interprets, analyzes and resolves conflicting Safety Basis technical/quality issues.
  • Supports and implements software quality requirements for applicable Safety Basis codes per DOE standards.

Requirements:

  • Active DOE "Q" or DOD "Top Secret" clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience reviewing, investigating substitute solutions and making recommendations related to safety basis.
  • Experience performing risk and hazard analyses for a nuclear/non-nuclear facility.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous Pantex experience preferred.
